Here's a close up, note the lack of shims on the motor mounts.
The battery box is aluminum and appears to be tig-ed together. Not too shabby. 
The wires are all as short as they need to be, and it's nice that the motor controller is mounted to the battery box and not internal to the motor as is done on some designs of this type. In this manner, the motor controller is not going be as affected by the heat of the motor. Nicely done.
